In today’s digital world, 3D is EVERYWHERE! It’s in the commercials and movies you watch, on the billboards you drive past, and in the latest deals you’re perusing on the web. But the crazy part is… you don’t even realize it’s happening!
How is it that an artist, like the ones at MediaLab, can create imagery so realistic you can’t even tell the difference between it and photography? Well, it’s a number of things, but at the forefront of the magic is how we use lighting and shadows to mimic a real-world environment.
To explain this even better, we sat down with Senior VFX Artist, Curtis Swihart, and Asset Supervisor, Jas Bajric, to have them talk about all things lighting and how they make it all come together for a photorealistic finish.
