A little recap for you: A 3D model is a digital representation of a three-dimensional object (AKA your product) that is created in dedicated 3D modeling software.
WHERE DO I START?
In order to create these models, artists can work from a variety of references. Whether it be a napkin sketch and a few calls, some photos, or a physical sample, the team will learn your product inside and out. That way, you get a completely accurate representation of your product.
After a model is created, you have so many options for how you show it off to the world. Think of this as your first step to endless opportunities and product image flexibility. From photorealistic static imagery to immersive experiences, a model of your product can open up so many doors.

WHAT CAN I DO NEXT?
As we’ve mentioned, you can do A LOT with your model once it’s complete. The easiest way of thinking through your options is by going from static collateral to animated pieces, to interactive or immersive experiences. It’s like taking your model through one level of complexity at a time.
static

Once your model is built, Product Renderings are a fantastic first step to showing them off. By displaying whatever angle you’d like, you can highlight unique features and detailed views that are nearly impossible to capture with standard photography.
With just one file to start from, you’ll be able to yield numerous, quality product images in whatever variety you need. An entire color line? Check. Alternate images with different pieces and parts? Check. The list goes on and on…
Now, how about putting that product in an environment? This way, you can give your audience some context. Environment Renderings allow them to now truly visualize your product in any space.
Show your product off in different styles so you can appeal to a variety of customers while avoiding costly set builds. Want to change up a few things? These changes only require a quick edit instead of physically altering the space and shooting new photography.

ANIMATED
The next step up from static imagery? Make it move. Animations are one of the best ways to grab your audience’s attention by showing your product in action. These eye-catching videos effectively highlight details and features that set you apart or give step-by-step instructions that are easy to digest.
By making the jump to animated pieces, you give your audience the opportunity to learn all about your brand in a captivating way. All they have to do is sit back, relax, and watch.
Added bonus for you: By creating an animated piece, you can pull out shorter video clips or still imagery to use wherever you’d like!
INTERACTIVE & IMMERSIVE
When most people hear about 3D these days, they are thinking about things like interactive and immersive experiences. AR and VR are all the rage and can take your audiences’ interaction with your brand to a whole new level.
360 Panoramas are VR-capable tools that allow users to explore practically any product in any space (all at their own pace). They make audiences feel like they are actually right in front of your product. Users can also select unique Hot Spots with videos, animations, and additional images to enhance their experience.
What about those products that have SO MANY options? How do you easily explain that to your audience without watching their eyes glaze over? We say… let them interact with it! Configurators permit users to customize your products by letting them swap out colors, materials, and components. It also lets them see how their customizations affect the price – in detail.
By creating your model, you’re future-proofing your imagery and taking fantastic steps for your marketing strategy.
