WFH AND ONLINE SHOPPING HABITS
At MediaLab, we’ve been working from home for almost two years. While our day-to-day hasn’t changed, it looks like consumer shopping habits have – and will continue to change through 2024. Here are some key things to note:
- It’s Convenient: Online shopping isn’t just for the retail therapy. Think grocery shopping, virtual health care, fitness, and delivery services. On your lunch break from Zoom meetings, you can shop for groceries in the next browser tab.
- Social Media Is [Still] King: E-commerce will continue to rely on social media platforms to reach consumers into 2022. Building brand awareness with high-quality content is key.
- Personalization to Customization: We’ve mentioned before how important it is to allow customizable opportunities for your customers. Shoppers expect top tier engagement when it comes to shopping digitally.
- Online Sales Are Booming: Here’s a fun fact: Did you know that 2022 is expected to be the first trillion-dollar year for online sales?
SPEAKING OF E-COMMERCE…
When it comes to shopping for a home, it’s getting more and more necessary to provide a complete service that includes personalizing the home search for your buyers.
In case you forgot, personalization is what you do for a user’s experience. Customization is about giving the user the power.
A big portion of homebuyers are also tech-savvy, meaning they require engaging experiences in all aspects of shopping, especially home shopping. From mobile accessibility to eSignatures, buying a home online is the new norm.

TRADE SHOWS MAKE A [HYBRID?] RETURN
We recently attended NeoCon, and it was great to be back. We’ve missed it so much so that we’re gearing up to attend KBIS and IBS in Orlando. However, INBOUND 2021 was all virtual this year and let us just say… it was awesome.
From customizing our agenda, to creating a digital avatar, to collecting some neat swag bags, HubSpot really nailed the virtual event space. Even if you missed a speaker, you could hop over to their list of on-demand webinars and watch it from the beginning. Will trade shows return to totally in-person events or adopt a hybrid model that could allow even more attendees to come to the show?
ABM EFFORTS TO THE RESCUE
High-quality content is important, but what’s even more important is who is receiving it. ABM efforts, or account-based marketing efforts, are an extremely effective marketing trend. Your sales and marketing teams can collaborate by using data to give your customers appropriately driven campaigns that meet their personal needs.

Whether you’re reminiscing on all you’ve accomplished this year or planning your 2022 initiatives, we’d love to chat more with you on how to stay in the loop on the latest and greatest.
